The audience thought a goal was coming when Ludomir Zacharek got free with Carlinhos Pinho in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ludomir Zacharek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos Pinho having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Cezary Kasiewski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlinhos Pinho. Cezary Kasiewski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when MelissaMel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in MelissaMel's zone, Dominik Brysz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlinhos Pinho came out of the goal and Dominik Brysz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raí Schmidt in the 22nd minute of play forced GKS Katowice's goalkeeper Betão Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th match minute, MelissaMel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guto Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Betão Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raí Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cezary Kasiewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezary Kasiewski in the 39th minute of play forced MelissaMel's goalkeeper Carlinhos Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlinhos Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Borys Kiszkiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clemente Montenegro's late challenge caught a GKS Katowice's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clemente Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. Clemente Montenegro hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Cezary Kasiewski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ludomir Zacharek took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlinhos Pinho. Carlinhos Pinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ruy Lara to make the kick off. Carlinhos Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucjan Werra, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. GKS Katowice's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dominik Brysz in the 57th minute. Carlinhos Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clemente Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The GKS Katowice fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0.
