In the 4th minute Claudio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genílson Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apostol Sokolov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerônimo Moreno in the 5th minute of play. BARBARIDADE G.M.'s Genílson Dante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Quiroga in the 7th minute of play. Genílson Dante didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Quiroga went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Claudio Quiroga took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Genílson Dante. Genílson Dante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 23 minutes into the match, BARBARIDADE G.M.'s goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Quiroga came free, but Genílson Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Apostol Sokolov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurinho Hermes's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute, Váldson Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Váldson Mesquita's late challenge caught a Monitor Huáscar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Váldson Mesquita helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Monitor Huáscar. Claudio Quiroga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Genílson Dante. 0-3. In the 35th minute, Claudio Quiroga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monitor Huáscar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind BARBARIDADE G.M.'s goalkeeper Genílson Dante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Claudio Quiroga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Genílson Dante was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

BARBARIDADE G.M. made a substitution. Per-Arne Ström replaced Alexander Hedin. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Claudio Quiroga took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Genílson Dante to make any attempt to save it. Claudio Quiroga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Genílson Dante made a huge save. Monitor Huáscar made a substitution. Bernardinho Bala replaced Artemio Varas. Monitor Huáscar made a substitution. Nazario Arechavala replaced Johnny Nyström. Carlos Galván made in the 67th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Claudio Quiroga however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Quiroga in the 78th minute of play forced BARBARIDADE G.M.'s goalkeeper Genílson Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute Jerônimo Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apostol Sokolov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Monitor Huáscar's Claudio Quiroga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Genílson Dante. Genílson Dante yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. Claudio Quiroga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genílson Dante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Eriberto Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Monitor Huáscar's Claudio Quiroga got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The BARBARIDADE G.M. manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Monitor Huáscar to win.
