Xencio Millan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Tuste in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Errapel in the 26th minute of play forced Cardiff City FC's goalkeeper Xencio Millan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Silverio Tuste came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Newells Old Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silverio Tuste couldn't finish the play. With a left leg Serafino Jurdan saved Newells Old Boys from getting behind. 70 minutes into the match, Newells Old Boys's Silverio Tuste sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xencio Millan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Silverio Tuste blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xencio Millan having to make a save.
