The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Edgardo Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gigel Tilea was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Edgardo Silva scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gigel Tilea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gigel Tilea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 10th minute, Edgardo Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New England Minas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeremy Nicholas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olimpiu Dichiseanu in the 17th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Edgardo Silva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gigel Tilea. Academia Rio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgardo Silva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Jeremy Nicholas made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Olimpiu Dichiseanu sent off a good shot on target. Sergiu Coșeriu had several of the New England Minas's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 23 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Jeremy Nicholas as he didn't even see the shot coming. Edgardo Silva scored 1-4 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gigel Tilea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gigel Tilea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Silva in the 33rd minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergiu Coșeriu, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Edgardo Silva notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea. Gigel Tilea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 47 minutes into the game, Edgardo Silva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Gigel Tilea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-6 lead.

The wind increased when Edgardo Silva made the kick off in the second half. Edgardo Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Gigel Tilea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gigel Tilea came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by New England Minas's Edgardo Silva. But to his dismay, Edgardo Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. In the 61st minute Edgardo Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Tilea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Silva in the 64th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremy Nicholas came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Rio's Olimpiu Dichiseanu. But to his dismay, Olimpiu Dichiseanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7. New England Minas made a substitution. Tio Lio replaced Edgardo Silva. After 76 minutes, Virgil Şimonca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia Rio and the New England Minas players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Virgil Şimonca hit a great ball. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tio Lio in the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tio Lio in the 78th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tio Lio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gigel Tilea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tio Lio in the 82nd minute of play. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgil Şimonca in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Virgil Şimonca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academia Rio fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-8. Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tio Lio in the 91st minute of play. Gigel Tilea didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when New England Minas's Tio Lio shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-9 in the ordered_time% minute. Gigel Tilea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tio Lio's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. The New England Minas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
