In the 26th minute Oscar Bergum suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Hazım Sadun's late challenge caught a Sagene IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hazım Sadun helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th minute of the match Wang Zhen Tian shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Meriç Bergin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Meriç Bergin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivan Óbolo went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torstein Solli in the 34th minute of play forced Trabzonspor FC's goalkeeper Meriç Bergin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 played minutes Trabzonspor FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Valencia. In the 37th minute, Bernad Velicia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Hans-Kristian Aanes made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Sagene IF's Meriç Bergin threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hans-Kristian Aanes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abayhan Umar in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Glyn Wedlock saved Sagene IF from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Torstein Solli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sagene IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 72 minutes into the game, Christer Claussen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Trabzonspor FC's Bernardo Frederico quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Raymond Michalsen made in the 73rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Hans-Kristian Aanes however managed to control. The supporters of Sagene IF booed when Trabzonspor FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Frederico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trabzonspor FC's attentive Bernardo Frederico managed to snatch the ball when Christer Claussen made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. Meriç Bergin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Óbolo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trabzonspor FC's Kajetan Gacki quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Raymond Michalsen, made in the 84th minute of the game. Hans-Kristian Aanes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Sagene IF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to Sagene IF getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Hans-Kristian Aanes hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abayhan Umar in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Glyn Wedlock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Trabzonspor FC's Meriç Bergin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Trabzonspor FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Trabzonspor FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Hazım Sadun hit a great ball. The Trabzonspor FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sagene IF's performance. The match ended with a win for Sagene IF.
