Gabriel Martini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 20 played minutes, Australian Youth Academy's Rufus Roach shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper 董寒伟 came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Australian Youth Academy reached it. Guapo B's 董寒伟 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garth Brough in the 36th minute of play. 董寒伟 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garth Brough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Martini in the 40th minute of play forced Guapo B's goalkeeper 董寒伟 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 played minutes Guapo B got a freekick which was hit by 齐榕桑. After some careless play in the Guapo B defense, Garth Brough kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 董寒伟. The Guapo B fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 董寒伟 should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas got control of the ball when 齐榕桑 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 齐榕桑 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Keylor Navas made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Harvey Elliott to strike the kick off in the second half. Hermengildo Mambru hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Garth Brough could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but 董寒伟 made a huge save. With a little luck, Guapo B's 董寒伟 got control of the ball when Garth Brough tried to sneak it across the goal line.
