Thomas Diehl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josemir Lujambio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pastor Nofre in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomas Diehl prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 19th minute Josemir Lujambio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Diehl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pastor Nofre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Thomas Diehl made a huge save. Melbourne 007's Thomas Diehl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Melbourne 007 from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Josemir Lujambio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Argentino's supporters rose to their feet, but Josemir Lujambio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Diehl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 30 played minutes Melbourne 007 got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Mccormick. Thomas Diehl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Jago, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Josemir Lujambio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Thomas Diehl skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 42nd minute, Pastor Nofre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Diehl was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Rudy Gummow's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denis Dolmos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

After having played for 53 minutes, Josemir Lujambio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Argentino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josemir Lujambio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 53rd minute Josemir Lujambio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Diehl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute Rudy Gummow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Dolmos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the game, Brandon Galvin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Melbourne 007's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Argentino the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Josemir Lujambio in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Diehl saved Melbourne 007 from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Josemir Lujambio put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Thomas Diehl. Thomas Diehl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ennu Krae in the 68th minute of play. Atlético Argentino's Pascual Ledesma was substituted for Joaquín Guzmán. After a defensive mix-up in Melbourne 007's zone, Josemir Lujambio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Diehl came out of the goal and Josemir Lujambio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudy Gummow in the 77th minute of play forced Atlético Argentino's goalkeeper Denis Dolmos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denis Dolmos made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Rudy Gummow sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute Ennu Krae shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Diehl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Argentino's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eufemio Yabbarov in the 86th minute. 89 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Atlético Argentino's Ennu Krae fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Rudy Gummow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
