A collision led to Deportivo Iguazu getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Marco Evis hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Möllgren in the 19th minute of play forced Deportivo Iguazu's goalkeeper Yngve Ödman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henrik Möllgren in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yngve Ödman saved Deportivo Iguazu from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Henrik Möllgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yngve Ödman was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Aaron Glanselius was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half SSC Ambrosini were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcelino Quintyn to make the kick off. With a little luck, Deportivo Iguazu's Yngve Ödman got control of the ball when Christer Lundin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56th minute, Christer Lundin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yngve Ödman. The goal made the score 1-6. The corner led to SSC Ambrosini's Christer Lundin getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. SSC Ambrosini's Magnus Fribäck was substituted for Christer Lundin. When Andres Martxel fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Iguazu's protests and gave Andres Martxel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th match minute, Deportivo Iguazu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andres Martxel to maneuver through the defense. Henrik Möllgren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Yngve Ödman made a huge save.
