Herbert Hilhorst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Rigg in the 5th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Rigg in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herbert Hilhorst saved Verwachting from getting behind. 16 minutes into the match, William Rigg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Herbert Hilhorst. Verwachting's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Rigg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save The Valar from getting a goal against them. William Rigg took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Herbert Hilhorst. Herbert Hilhorst dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some careless play in the Verwachting defense, William Rigg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Herbert Hilhorst. The Verwachting fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Herbert Hilhorst should have stopped the shot. Emmanuel Canturri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christijan Schreuder in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute William Rigg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Hilhorst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herbert Hilhorst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Rigg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes Verwachting's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Codruț Uncheşu who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on The Valar's corner Codruț Uncheşu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Herbert Hilhorst quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri got control of the ball when Christijan Schreuder tried to sneak it across the goal line. Verwachting's Herbert Hilhorst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Rigg in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, The Valar's Jonatan Maidana got a free kick in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, The Valar's goalkeeper Emmanuel Canturri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christijan Schreuder. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

William Riggs short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Herbert Hilhorst to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. William Rigg struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Herbert Hilhorst didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Valar. After 55 minutes of play, The Valar's William Rigg made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herbert Hilhorst was left in no man's land by his defense there! 65 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by William Rigg. Emmanuel Canturri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Geels in the 71st minute of play. Herbert Hilhorst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Rigg in the 75th minute of the match. Herbert Hilhorst made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when William Rigg sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Deitmers in the 80th minute of play forced The Valar's goalkeeper Emmanuel Canturri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Rigg got free with Herbert Hilhorst in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Phoenix Soare got a free kick in the 86th minute. Herbert Hilhorst made an important save on a dangerous shot by William Rigg in the 87th minute. Ulmo Vala hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match.
