Bernardo Abeijon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Gert van den Bergh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Bernardo Abeijon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo Abeijon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 1-1 became the score in the 13th minute when Gez Little elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Nick Heesen notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Ampthill FC's Bernardo Abeijon. Bernardo Abeijon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gez Little in the 18th minute of play. Bernardo Abeijon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nick Heesen went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Ampthill FC made a substitution. Dean Hoskins replaced Zack Alderson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Heesen in the 27th minute of play forced Ampthill FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Abeijon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelino Playo scored 2-3 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Georg Hagberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Ampthill FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ditlev Delmont came free, but Bernardo Abeijon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ampthill FC's Marcelino Playo in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ágætis Byrjun's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nick Heesen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Nick Heesen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bernardo Abeijon, 2-4. A collision led to Ampthill FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Kain Havertz hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Ampthill FC's Dean Hoskins got a free kick in the 66th minute. Ágætis Byrjun made a substitution. Ben Steyns replaced Vitaliy Vorobey. In the 68th minute, Dean Hoskins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Neil Ginn fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ampthill FC's protests and gave Neil Ginn a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th match minute, Ampthill FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Ginn to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Abeijon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nick Heesen's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. The audience was convinced that Nick Heesen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardo Abeijon was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Ampthill FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kain Havertz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nick Heesen got free with Bernardo Abeijon in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ladislao Cordarius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Nick Heesen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo Abeijon. Ampthill FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nick Heesen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. The Ampthill FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ágætis Byrjun were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
