With an all-out effort, Sheriff's Józef Mlynarczyk threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Natalio Dominguez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Józef Mlynarczyk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natalio Dominguez's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. In the 19th minute Julio Tolino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yahia van der Saar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Pucho's Wilfredo Thomas got a free kick in the 20th minute. Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Pucho from getting a goal against them. Józef Mlynarczyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damaso Xacintu in the 33rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Deportivo Pucho's goalkeeper Józef Mlynarczyk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Clayton Gol. After 36 played minutes Sheriff got a freekick which was hit by Kılıçalp Ayçetin. Clayton Gol's late challenge caught a Deportivo Pucho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clayton Gol helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sheriff's Clayton Gol got a free kick in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Tolino in the 78th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Yahia van der Saar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Sheriff's Clayton Gol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
