Themos Leontiadis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radamel Falcao, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Themos Leontiadis put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Polikarp Miheev. Themos Leontiadis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Gertsyk in the 25th minute of play. After 27 minutes Panionios MK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Javier Sanguinetti who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Panionios MK's goalie and right to Anton Gertsyk. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Panionios MK's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Themos Leontiadis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Polikarp Miheev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 34th minute of play. When Themos Leontiadis in the 39th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Polikarp Miheev kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Polikarp Miheev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 42nd minute of play. After 46 played minutes Panionios MK got a freekick which was hit by Dimosthenis Ploumoudis. Javier Sanguinetti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 51st minute Kazimierz Merski suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. When Kyriakos Akrivoulis fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panionios MK's protests and gave Kyriakos Akrivoulis a yellow card for diving instead. FC Barcelona Lassa's Vladimir Krestovskiy was substituted for Kazimierz Merski. Polikarp Miheev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Corrigan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Corrigan took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Polikarp Miheev. Polikarp Miheev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Panionios MK's Fanis Salepis managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Danil Saveliev in the 62 minute of the game. The throw-in from Danil Saveliev in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Panionios MK's Fanis Salepis. 64 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona Lassa's goal looked a bit too open when Themos Leontiadis came free, but Polikarp Miheev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erik Vale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Radamel Falcao in the 66th minute. Anton Gertsyk got in the 68th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Erik Vale handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. After 68 minutes, Anton Gertsyk made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Panionios MK's Erik Vale tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 72nd minute Themos Leontiadis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Polikarp Miheev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 83 in the game by Radamel Falcao from a close distance when the talented Erik Vale managed to make a qualified save. Panionios MK's players were relieved. Argyris Ksagorarakis kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Erik Vale made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Javier Sanguinetti sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anton Gertsyk got free with Erik Vale in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
