Broderick Ceney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peng Xiong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adilson Breckenfeld got free with Broderick Ceney in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Pablo Solari fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 34 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Peng Xiong came free, but Broderick Ceney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Broderick Ceney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Diagur, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Champions Iasi's Broderick Ceney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peng Xiong in the 42nd minute of play. In the 42nd minute, one of Champions Iasi:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Champions Iasi. Adilson Breckenfeld walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 46 played minutes Crottos Crotters F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Peng Xiong. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Pablo Solari managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crottos Crotters F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Solari was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Broderick Ceney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute, Crottos Crotters F.C.'s Frank Mackensen seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Frank Mackensen the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Crottos Crotters F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Frank Mackensen had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Crottos Crotters F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Champions Iasi:s goal. When the match had been going on for 63 minutes, Champions Iasi's Stefan Pieters got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Angel Vito. Angel Vito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Romero in the 74th minute of play. Broderick Ceney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peng Xiong in the 82nd minute of play. In the 86th minute, Adilson Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Crottos Crotters F.C. made a substitution. Guido Socorro replaced Szilveszter Puja. Crottos Crotters F.C.'s Gerardo Gartzea was substituted for Wieslaw Zarobski. Adilson Breckenfeld hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. When Stefan Pieters came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Champions Iasi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Pieters couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Diagur came free, but Broderick Ceney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
