The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the match, Gianluca Lapadula notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Lucrețiu Sfetcu. Lucrețiu Sfetcu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horia Chioreanu in the 13th minute of play forced KS Bukowe's goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, KS Bukowe's Jerzy Dudek got control of the ball when Basarab Panduru tried to sneak it across the goal line. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Lucrețiu Sfetcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gianluca Lapadula in the 19th minute of play. Jerzy Dudek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horia Chioreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, KS Bukowe's goal looked a bit too open when Valer Perișoară came free, but Jerzy Dudek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gianluca Lapadula in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucrețiu Sfetcu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 33 minutes into the match, Gianluca Lapadula notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Lucrețiu Sfetcu. Lucrețiu Sfetcu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gianluca Lapadula kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Marian Mondrowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wieslaw Czajka's late challenge caught a FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wieslaw Czajka helped the player get up and apologised. When Călin Boieraș came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Călin Boieraș couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Basarab Panduru to make the kick off. Lucrețiu Sfetcu made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Gianluca Lapadula sent off a good shot on target. Gianluca Lapadula in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lucrețiu Sfetcu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jerzy Dudek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basarab Panduru in the 61st minute of the match. In the 61st minute Basarab Panduru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerzy Dudek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gianluca Lapadula could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu made a huge save. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Eric Gorcea was substituted for Valer Perișoară. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Sfetcu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gianluca Lapadula's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. KS Bukowe's Jerzy Dudek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Gorcea in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind KS Bukowe's goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marian Mondrowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Lucrețiu Sfetcu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's zone, Gianluca Lapadula stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucrețiu Sfetcu came out of the goal and Gianluca Lapadula tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 87 minutes into the game, FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Eric Gorcea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jerzy Dudek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Jerzy Dudek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Gorcea in the 90th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costin Malcoci in the 92nd minute of play forced KS Bukowe's goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The KS Bukowe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing KS Bukowe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
