Sportivo Constitución's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Theodore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Enzo Uzuri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Verón, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Sportivo Quilmes were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Sportivo Constitución's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Waldemar Przybylo took the corner. Pastor Firman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wincenty Bucyki in the 8th minute. With a little luck, Club Sportivo Quilmes's Pastor Firman got control of the ball when Wincenty Bucyki tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 15th minute Norberto Theodore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Firman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enzo Uzuri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silverio Chuan in the 23rd minute of play. Enzo Uzuri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Chuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After some careless play in the Sportivo Constitución defense, Radomil Mietus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enzo Uzuri. The Sportivo Constitución fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enzo Uzuri should have stopped the shot. Pastor Firman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciriaco Medardo in the 43rd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Silverio Chuan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enzo Uzuri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastian Verón in the 55th minute. Enzo Uzuri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radomil Mietus in the 64th minute of play. The Club Sportivo Quilmes fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Club Sportivo Quilmes's Radomil Mietus looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 86th minute Edmílson Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Uzuri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciriaco Medardo hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. David Oihan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Enzo Uzuri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pastor Firman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arsenio Erico in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Club Sportivo Quilmes had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
