When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Nurkan Salah sped through Sleepy Soldiers FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joonatan De Vlaeminck. Joonatan De Vlaeminck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nurkan Salah in the 28th minute of play. Andres Oper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eliot Pfingst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Balu De Hond received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sleepy Soldiers FC's Andres Oper got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Southern Thrashers's goal looked a bit too open when Octavio Ordono came free, but Eliot Pfingst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliot Pfingst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andres Oper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andres Oper was the one to do the kick off. Cebo Arnero made in the 82nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Cai Inestrosa however managed to control. Joonatan De Vlaeminck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelino Ospin, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Léo Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliot Pfingst having to interfere.
