Westenenk's Jaap van der Schans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boleslaw Dres in the 8th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Westenenk's goal looked a bit too open when Ari Hakanpää came free, but Jaap van der Schans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Westenenk were furious when Jan Rein Karremans was red carded, 13 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle.
