The corner led Schuster's Enrico Pagliarini to fire away a dangerous shot which Guy Durant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Musko Cuevas scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guy Durant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Guy Durant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Musko Cuevas in the 25th minute of play. Tom Beaune recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guy Durant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Musko Cuevas in the 28th minute of the match. Filiberto Paternina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guy Durant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Mathias Lecanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lyon 69ers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schuster the free kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anatol Hönes to make the kick off. Rodolphe Sol's late challenge caught a Schuster's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lyon 69ers's Guy Durant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Lyon 69ers from getting a goal against them.
