Pinner Cluj-Napoca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newells Old Boys the free kick. 6 minutes into the match, Pinner Cluj-Napoca's Ali Nurettin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yalçın Erensoy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny N'Diaye in the 11th minute of play forced Pinner Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Jalmari Mikkonen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yalçın Erensoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Nurettin, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Yalçın Erensoy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Pinner Cluj-Napoca's Jalmari Mikkonen got control of the ball when Lokman Sağlamtürk tried to sneak it across the goal line. Yalçın Erensoy came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Pinner Cluj-Napoca's Ali Nurettin. But to his dismay, Ali Nurettin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 28 minutes into the match, Pinner Cluj-Napoca's Ali Nurettin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yalçın Erensoy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Newells Old Boys's Jalmari Mikkonen threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lokman Sağlamtürk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 36th minute of the match Pinner Cluj-Napoca got a corner. Newells Old Boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristian Gallo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ali Nurettin was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 38th minute, Hacı Ali Süvari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yalçın Erensoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Nurettin in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Ali Nurettin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Newells Old Boys! Ali Nurettin shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal.

After 52 minutes, Hacı Ali Süvari mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newells Old Boys and the Pinner Cluj-Napoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55thth minute of the game Ali Nurettin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newells Old Boys's Yalçın Erensoy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ali Nurettin in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yalçın Erensoy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute, Ali Nurettin made a precise shot to the right of Yalçın Erensoy. Newells Old Boys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 66th minute, Petruț Mircescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yalçın Erensoy was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Yalçın Erensoy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pinner Cluj-Napoca's Emanuel Herlea was substituted for Adan Umea. In the 73rd match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Başaran Tuncay to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Pinner Cluj-Napoca's Ali Nurettin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yalçın Erensoy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Ali Nurettin fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Yalçın Erensoy, passed just outside the right post. Yalçın Erensoy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ali Nurettin's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Yalçın Erensoy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ali Nurettin went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute, Ali Nurettin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yalçın Erensoy. The goal made the score 0-7. Pinner Cluj-Napoca's Franco Vázquez was substituted for Cristian Gallo. Yalçın Erensoy didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 88th minute, which inside left pole to 0-8. Yalçın Erensoy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ali Nurettin in the 92nd minute. When Pinner Cluj-Napoca's Ali Nurettin in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
