Don Longden's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Ladislav Lomnický skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ladislav Lomnický made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johannes Wennerström in the 25th minute. After 30 played minutes Osfinch FC got a freekick which was hit by Benedykt Wysocki. Stanislav Záruba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stefan Cullen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Don Longden got free with Ladislav Lomnický in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 37 minutes Osfinch FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Viktor Kasarda who took care of the corner kick. The corner led UFC Pivnica's Ľubomír Smatana to fire away a dangerous shot which Stefan Cullen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 42 played minutes Osfinch FC got a freekick which was hit by Boğaçhan Çinucen. Ladislav Lomnický was a little too slow when Andy Carroll got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

53 minutes into the match, UFC Pivnica's goal looked a bit too open when Johannes Wennerström came free, but Ladislav Lomnický reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jozef Hecl charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jozef Hecl the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jozef Hecl hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Osfinch FC's Carl Walmsley got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Stefan Cullen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cornelius Ritchie kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Ladislav Lomnický made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Longden in the 67th minute of play. Stew Brownlow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Osfinch FC's Mickey Rothwell got a free kick in the 70th minute. When Ľubomír Smatana came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the UFC Pivnica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ľubomír Smatana couldn't finish the play. Ladislav Lomnický showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boğaçhan Çinucen in the 72nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Don Longden in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ladislav Lomnický saved UFC Pivnica from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pavol Rybnický in the 76th minute of play forced Osfinch FC's goalkeeper Stefan Cullen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, UFC Pivnica's goal looked a bit too open when Don Longden came free, but Ladislav Lomnický reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osfinch FC's Andy Carroll got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Johannes Wennerström made a precise shot to the right of Ladislav Lomnický. UFC Pivnica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 85th minute, Pavol Rybnický got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ladislav Lomnický made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boğaçhan Çinucen in the 87th minute of play. Ľubomír Smatana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stefan Cullen having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stew Brownlow during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
