In the 15th minute, Endre Bjørheim reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hemming Tjørnum. The goal made the score 1-1. Israel Petri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Hemming Tjørnum made a huge save. Hemming Tjørnum made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Israel Petri sent off a good shot on target. In the 23rd minute AEK FC were awarded a corner. Adam Svenning went to the cornerflag to take it. With a little luck, C.A. Caminiaga's Hemming Tjørnum got control of the ball when Radowit Hetman tried to sneak it across the goal line. AEK FC were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after C.A. Caminiaga's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adam Svenning took the corner. In the 40th match minute, AEK FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdi Malkoçoğlu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Frasco in the 41st minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Finn Eidsvåg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hemming Tjørnum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Endre Bjørheim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Ståle Skogli reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hemming Tjørnum. The goal made the score 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 65th minute Radowit Hetman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hemming Tjørnum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 played minutes AEK FC got a freekick which was hit by Roald Djupvik. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Ståle Skogli managed to get in a good position for a shot. AEK FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ståle Skogli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hemming Tjørnum breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 91 played minutes C.A. Caminiaga got a freekick which was hit by Serafin Quintana. AEK FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
