The supporters of São Francisco FC86 booed when Yala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurids Grejsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Yala defense, Ronaldo Pinheiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zeledon Curcio. The Yala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zeledon Curcio should have stopped the shot. 15 minutes into the match, São Francisco FC86's goal looked a bit too open when Freddy Valentine came free, but Mauro Castilho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute of the match, Freddy Valentine tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mauro Castilho saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Zeledon Curcio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Furo Rede, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd play minute Edwin Söderberg came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mauro Castilho. 2-1. Freddy Valentine struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Mauro Castilho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yala. Jorge Maltez hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurids Grejsen in the 32nd minute of play forced São Francisco FC86's goalkeeper Mauro Castilho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute São Francisco FC86 were awarded a corner. Jorge Maltez went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Ricardo Madeira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zeledon Curcio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mauro Castilho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Valentine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niki Bundev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yala's Niki Bundev got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Freddy Valentine made a kick off. Mauro Castilho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Valentine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauro Castilho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddy Valentine, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Yala's goalkeeper Zeledon Curcio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Furo Rede. After a rather tough play, Yala's Santiago Feo got a free kick in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the game, São Francisco FC86's Aparício Guerreiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zeledon Curcio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. São Francisco FC86's Mauro Castilho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddy Valentine in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute of the match Yala got a corner. São Francisco FC86's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Raimundo Frans ran over to the corner to take the kick. Raimundo Frans made a great header on Yala's corner, it was just that São Francisco FC86's Mauro Castilho managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 73rd minute, Emílio Águas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind São Francisco FC86's goalkeeper Mauro Castilho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mauro Castilho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niki Bundev, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After 79 minutes of play, Yala's Niki Bundev made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauro Castilho was left in no man's land by his defense there! 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by São Francisco FC86's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Raimundo Frans was slow to take the kick. During this time Yala's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Raimundo Frans almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but São Francisco FC86's Mauro Castilho did a great save. Santiago Feo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mauro Castilho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Jaunti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauro Castilho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Jaunti in the 96th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Yala players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
