Zeledon Curcio made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Raimundo Castulo sent off a good shot on target. Zeledon Curcio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raimundo Castulo's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Zeledon Curcio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lavan Querubin in the 15th minute of play. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Yala's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Raimundo Castulo was slow to take the kick. During this time Argentino de Banfield's players had a chance to rest. Yala were furious when Generoso Pinto was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When the match had been going on for 23 minutes, Argentino de Banfield's Raimundo Castulo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Zeledon Curcio. Nunez Berasko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Zeledon Curcio made a huge save. In the 35th match minute, Argentino de Banfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lavan Querubin to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Niki Bundev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Valentine was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Yala's Zeledon Curcio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lavan Querubin in the 37th minute of play. Edwin Söderberg hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Nunez Berasko might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeledon Curcio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nunez Berasko ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 45th minute Edwin Söderberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Valentine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 minutes Argentino de Banfield's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Yavuz Acabay who took care of the corner kick. Laurids Grejsen made a great header on Yala's corner, it was just that Argentino de Banfield's Leonides Valentine managed to reach the ball for a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Zeledon Curcio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victorio Bemabe in the 68th minute of the match. Alejo Orti hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Leonides Valentine made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edwin Söderberg in the 70th minute. Alberto Jaunti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Raimundo Castulo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zeledon Curcio was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. In the 80th minute, Nunez Berasko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zeledon Curcio was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. A collision led to Yala getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Alberto Jaunti hit a great ball. Yala's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
