With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christer Waaler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 11 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Noureddine Seret came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Torino SSA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Noureddine Seret in the 12th minute. The corner ended in Noureddine Seret almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Åsnes's Christer Waaler did a great save. 14 minutes into the game, Jon Hesjedal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Åsnes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Torino SSA the free kick. Jon Hesjedal hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Torino SSA's Chicão de Azevedo got control of the ball when Jonathan Vie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chicão de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristian Sandersen, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Christer Waaler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardinho Aguiar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Vie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chicão de Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Sílvio Luiz da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Waaler having to interfere. If Noureddine Seret had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Torino SSA's goalkeeper Chicão de Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Vie. After having played for 40 minutes, Noureddine Seret managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Torino SSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noureddine Seret was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

In the 51st match minute, Åsnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Ødegaard to maneuver through the defense. Christer Waaler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardinho Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 61st minute, Martin Rustad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sílvio Luiz da Costa in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christer Waaler saved Åsnes from getting behind. Noureddine Seret could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Christer Waaler made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luiz da Costa in the 68th minute of play forced Åsnes's goalkeeper Christer Waaler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute Sílvio Luiz da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Waaler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goalkeeper Christer Waaler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Noureddine Seret.
