The Garanhão do SUL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ignatius Casasola should have stopped the shot. In the 17thth minute of the game Dominik Barowicz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garanhão do SUL's Ignatius Casasola was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. António Gama sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ignatius Casasola came out of the goal and Ignacy Petka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dominik Barowicz to make the kick off.
