An unexpectedly hard shot by Krakaca Neto in the 11th minute of play forced Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Giovanni Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Futuros FC booed when Júbilo Iwata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iwan Gondek didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 14 minutes, Paolo Ferdinand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Futuros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paolo Ferdinand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After taking down the ball on Futuros FC's corner Paolo Ferdinand fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Giovanni Pena quite easily take care of the ball. Giovanni Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Fernandes in the 38th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Júbilo Iwata defense, Krakaca Neto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovanni Pena. The Júbilo Iwata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovanni Pena should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Júbilo Iwata's Ivan Xabier got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 47th minute of the match Júbilo Iwata got a corner. Futuros FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sandro de Barros ran over to the corner to take the kick. The Júbilo Iwata players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Futuros FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Krakaca Neto to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Krakaca Neto got free with Giovanni Pena in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd match minute, Júbilo Iwata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mazinho Correia to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Giovanni Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Krakaca Neto. 65 minutes into the match, Marcos Fernandes notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena. Giovanni Pena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 69 minutes into the match, Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Giovanni Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Krakaca Neto. In the 88th minute, Beto Smith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Carlos Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerônimo Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Júbilo Iwata's zone, Krakaca Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Pena came out of the goal and Krakaca Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Futuros FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Futuros FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
