After a defensive mix-up in Cosmos Soccer Club's zone, Pero Šiljak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jarrett Rosenberg came out of the goal and Pero Šiljak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jarrett Rosenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarcisio Galvão in the 13th minute of play. Nicky Cavazos hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goal looked a bit too open when Julio Baptista came free, but Jarrett Rosenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ryan McCullough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of JEC - FC booed when Cosmos Soccer Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harvey Flynn didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Pero Šiljak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jarrett Rosenberg. Cosmos Soccer Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pero Šiljak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 36th minute, JEC - FC's Geovani Garcia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jarrett Rosenberg. Jarrett Rosenberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. Cosmos Soccer Club's Jarrett Rosenberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Cosmos Soccer Club from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julio Baptista to strike the kick off in the second half. Brian Mendoza charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brian Mendoza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jarrett Rosenberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarcisio Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Tarcisio Galvão scored 5-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarrett Rosenberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Cosmos Soccer Club's Ryan McCullough got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After some careless play in the Cosmos Soccer Club defense, Geovani Garcia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jarrett Rosenberg. The Cosmos Soccer Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jarrett Rosenberg should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Baptista in the 69th minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Jarrett Rosenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Novak received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlos Ramos came out and tried to block the shot, but Emanuel Novak slotted it home off the left post making it 6-2 in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Garcia came free, but Jarrett Rosenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Geovani Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarrett Rosenberg having to interfere. Cosmos Soccer Club's Jarrett Rosenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Baptista in the 81st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani Garcia in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jarrett Rosenberg saved Cosmos Soccer Club from getting behind. 86 minutes into the match, Geovani Garcia notched a goal, 7-2, to the right of Cosmos Soccer Club's Jarrett Rosenberg. Jarrett Rosenberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 89th minute, one of Cosmos Soccer Club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cosmos Soccer Club. In the 90th minute there was a penalty for JEC - FC. Julio Baptista stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jarrett Rosenberg. 8-2. JEC - FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cosmos Soccer Club for a fine match.
