With a little luck, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Kristopher Johnson got control of the ball when Michel Cremers tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Nildo Matos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Kristopher Johnson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslav Klose in the 24th minute of play forced Seagulls's goalkeeper Aurelio Rexino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelio Rexino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miroslav Klose in the 26th minute of the match. Ilídio Abrantes might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aurelio Rexino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ilídio Abrantes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute, Ilídio Abrantes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aurelio Rexino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miroslav Klose in the 40th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the game, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Miroslav Klose nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurelio Rexino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nildo Matos to make the kick off. Aurelio Rexino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C..
