In the 3rd minute Olimpiu Mustea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Borys Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Moldovan, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. A beautiful save bye FC Borówiec's goalie prevented a goal. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Borówiec's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Olimpiu Mustea was slow to take the kick. During this time Phoenix Strikers's players had a chance to rest. 11 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when Hamza Erzan came free, but Ionel Panaitoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu got control of the ball when Adam Petka tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ionel Panaitoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wit Dombrowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Ionel Panaitoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamza Erzan in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Phoenix Strikers's Olimpiu Mustea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Borys Buffon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Traian Moldovan put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Borys Buffon. Ionel Panaitoiu made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Wit Dombrowski sent off a good shot on target. Borys Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Mustea, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hamza Erzan in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ionel Panaitoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Ionel Panaitoiu came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Borówiec's Adam Petka. But to his dismay, Adam Petka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 53 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by Eric Aanuţei. 57 minutes into the match, Wit Dombrowski notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu. Ionel Panaitoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Adam Petka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Borówiec's Borys Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save FC Borówiec from getting a goal against them. Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wit Dombrowski in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Idar Reistad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Borówiec's Wit Dombrowski got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phoenix Strikers's Pavel Haaland was substituted for Ivan Galtero. In the 74th minute, Wit Dombrowski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Borówiec fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. 80 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when Wit Dombrowski came free, but Ionel Panaitoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Borówiec's Borys Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save FC Borówiec from getting a goal against them. In the 84th match minute, FC Borówiec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Brzakala to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wit Dombrowski in the 90th minute of play forced Phoenix Strikers's goalkeeper Ionel Panaitoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phoenix Strikers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
