They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Traian Moldovan to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when Balla Bollar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Torgny Alin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ian Vestlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traian Moldovan in the 53rd minute of the match. The corner led to Phoenix Strikers's Ovidiu Popescu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 56th match minute, Balla Bollar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils Säfström to maneuver through the defense. Magnus Glanselius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ionel Panaitoiu having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, Traian Moldovan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phoenix Strikers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Traian Moldovan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th match minute, Phoenix Strikers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Aanuţei to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Eric Aanuţei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toader Ghișe hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Ian Vestlund made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ovidiu Popescu in the 72nd minute. Phoenix Strikers made a substitution. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Jonas Wiman put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Ionel Panaitoiu. In the 84thth minute of the game Traian Moldovan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Balla Bollar's Ian Vestlund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Traian Moldovan got free with Ian Vestlund in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 89 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by Olimpiu Mustea. 93 minutes into the match, Balla Bollar's goalkeeper Ian Vestlund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Traian Moldovan. Phoenix Strikers's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
