The coaching staff of Olímpico Blumenau FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vladimir Gaspar had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 3rd minute, one of Olímpico Blumenau FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Olímpico Blumenau FC. Samyang Ramen's Alex Wållander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Varela in the 10th minute of play. If Evaristo Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the match, Olímpico Blumenau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Siggman came free, but Manoel Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Olímpico Blumenau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrizio Ravanelli came free, but Manoel Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manoel Schmidt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrizio Ravanelli in the 18th minute of the match. Samyang Ramen's Alex Wållander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Samyang Ramen from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrizio Ravanelli in the 23rd minute of play forced Olímpico Blumenau FC's goalkeeper Manoel Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Göran Nordgren took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manoel Schmidt. Manoel Schmidt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Isaltino Siqueira kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Olímpico Blumenau FC defense, Walter Siggman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manoel Schmidt. The Olímpico Blumenau FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manoel Schmidt should have stopped the shot. 37 minutes into the match, Olímpico Blumenau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrizio Ravanelli came free, but Manoel Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manoel Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans-Jürgen Nudelman, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evaristo Varela made a kick off. Manoel Schmidt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sam Yang in the 90th minute. 91 minutes into the game, Hans-Jürgen Nudelman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manoel Schmidt. Hans-Jürgen Nudelman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bo-Erik Apelkvist got free with Manoel Schmidt in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
