In the 40th minute, Hermengildo Cordeara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Connor Osmond was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Steven Puttemans scored to the left of an out of position 俞锋烽, making the score, 3-1. The referee showed Conrado Lluciano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SK Mons booed when NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Lluciano didn't get a good kick on the ball. SK Mons's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
