Scott Herz struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Higinio Aguilera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hemmersbacher SV. In the 17th minute, Luís Fábio Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th minute, Warren Hunn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hemmersbacher SV's Khalid Gottschalk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fábio Rocha in the 25th minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Luís Fábio Rocha made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Khalid Gottschalk was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera got control of the ball when Luca Saenger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Fábio Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Demy Ottens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Khalid Gottschalk having to interfere. Andrea Pirlo might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Khalid Gottschalk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrea Pirlo ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Scott Herz to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Hemmersbacher SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Saenger to maneuver through the defense. Indiana Jones's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 97thth minute, Khalid Gottschalk skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The Hemmersbacher SV fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Los Hijos de Doña Beija were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
