The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Baxters Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ennio Piccioli to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the match, Baxters Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Ernest Mareș came free, but Börje Albohm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute, Romeo Giurăscu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Vlashers's goal looked a bit too open when Cornelio Olayo came free, but Pauli Palander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vlashers's Dorel Petcu got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vlashers's Pauli Palander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Staffan Åman in the 18th minute of play. Börje Albohm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marius Levința in the 22nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Marioara Olaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baxters Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Marioara Olaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pauli Palander breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 26 minutes into the match, Vlashers's goal looked a bit too open when Aloísio Lendaa came free, but Pauli Palander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aloísio Lendaa in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pauli Palander saved Vlashers from getting behind. Börje Albohm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marius Levința in the 30th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Marius Levința cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Börje Albohm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pauli Palander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Guidetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Johan Bäckman kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Cornelio Olayo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pauli Palander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marius Levința to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Marius Levința shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Albohm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Aloísio Lendaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Vlashers's goal looked a bit too open when Staffan Åman came free, but Pauli Palander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Börje Albohm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernest Mareș, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Leonard Stelaru kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Baxters Boys made a substitution. Uzay Gencalp replaced Aloísio Lendaa. The supporters of Baxters Boys booed when Vlashers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Stelaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Vlashers getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Remus Oprișan hit a great ball. Pauli Palander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornelio Olayo in the 81st minute of the match. In the 84th match minute, Baxters Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marioara Olaru to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Baxters Boys getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Cornelio Olayo hit a great ball. Pauli Palander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uzay Gencalp in the 90th minute. After 92 minutes of play, Baxters Boys's Frank Novella made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pauli Palander was left in no man's land by his defense there! Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
