Apolo Santxol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 14th minute of the match Estrela Solitária got a corner. Huckebein's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chicão Amorim ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gil Travassos was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 18 minutes into the match, Estrela Solitária's goal looked a bit too open when Gwidon Augustyn came free, but Benjamim Dante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
