Itajaí Football Club's Marcelo Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anísio Azevedo in the 4th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Itajaí Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Washington Arantes came free, but Marcelo Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anísio Azevedo in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Marcelo Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Washington Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Conrado Miranda made the kick off in the second half.
