Jardel Sanches made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gottlieb Hammer in the 4th minute. After 13 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Neşat Beykan. Grêmio FBPA's attentive Ted Hoogenkamp managed to snatch the ball when Ntinos Karsiotis made a throw-in in the 17th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Pipis Karapatakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio FBPA's supporters rose to their feet, but Pipis Karapatakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karsten Zielinski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the game, one of Balus Treter:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Karsten Zielinski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pipis Karapatakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pipis Karapatakis struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Karsten Zielinski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio FBPA. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pipis Karapatakis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 60th match minute, Balus Treter was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ntinos Karsiotis to maneuver through the defense. Ntinos Karsiotis hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 63 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Ntinos Karsiotis. With a little luck, Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski got control of the ball when Pipis Karapatakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pipis Karapatakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karsten Zielinski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Balus Treter from getting a goal against them. Grêmio FBPA's Jardel Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vilhelm Trulsson in the 83rd minute of play. Balus Treter were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Grêmio FBPA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elivélton Tavares took the corner. Pipis Karapatakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karsten Zielinski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute of the match Grêmio FBPA got a corner. Balus Treter's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alberto Estevon ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Alberto Estevon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Karsten Zielinski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 94th minute Pipis Karapatakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karsten Zielinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Ntinos Karsiotis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pipis Karapatakis in the 97th minute of play forced Balus Treter's goalkeeper Karsten Zielinski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Balus Treter supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Grêmio FBPA's performance. The match ended with a win for Grêmio FBPA.
