László Madaras started the match with the kick off. Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel's late challenge caught a Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to R.B Leipzig getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel hit a great ball. In the 7th minute Máté Elek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marek Žilák saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jude Sandoval hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, R.B Leipzig's Lorenzo Ribota got a free kick in the 10th minute. Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. A collision led to Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Ray Abascal hit a great ball. A hard shot 20 in the game by Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel from a close distance when the talented Attila Mesterházy managed to make a qualified save. Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's players were relieved. In the 22nd minute, Fausto Bucesta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Lorenzo Ribota fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored R.B Leipzig's protests and gave Lorenzo Ribota a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to R.B Leipzig getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Lorenzo Ribota hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Osoitz Cascajares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Fausto Bucesta came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the R.B Leipzig fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Bucesta couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's goalkeeper Attila Mesterházy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel. 39 minutes into the match, Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Attila Mesterházy, 2-0. The supporters of Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC booed when R.B Leipzig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jude Sandoval didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Attila Mesterházy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jude Sandoval, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute Máté Elek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marek Žilák saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. László Madaras hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Fausto Bucesta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, one of Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC. If Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC made a substitution. László Csank replaced Christian Kilstedt. Attila Mesterházy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Attila Mesterházy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute of the match Fausto Tomasso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Attila Mesterházy skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marin Manea in the 76th minute of play forced R.B Leipzig's goalkeeper Marek Žilák to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's Attila Mesterházy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Fortuna Balassagyarmat FC's Attila Mesterházy. Attila Mesterházy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 85th minute Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Attila Mesterházy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Attila Mesterházy came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by R.B Leipzig's Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel. But to his dismay, Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Fausto Bucesta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Attila Mesterházy having to make a save. Attila Mesterházy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Bucesta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the R.B Leipzig players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
