Amador Patxi started the match with the kick off. Varennes's Gilberto Boone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Sugar in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Pomona AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Maurice Odonnell came free, but Bernardino Telmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amador Patxis short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Gilberto Boone to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Pomona AFC's Amador Patxi in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varennes's goalie prevented a goal. A hard shot 24 in the game by Amador Patxi from a close distance when the talented Gilberto Boone managed to make a qualified save. Varennes's players were relieved. 25 minutes into the game, Arturo Sugar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pomona AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Varennes the free kick. A collision led to Pomona AFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Arturo Sugar hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the match, Pomona AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Goudreau came free, but Bernardino Telmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pomona AFC's Amador Patxi came free and shot a quick shot against goal 29 minutes in the game, fortunately Gilberto Boone had problems saving as it came toward the left post. If Arturo Sugar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 39 minutes, Amador Patxi made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Varennes's Gilberto Boone tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maurice Odonnell to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Maurice Odonnell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardino Telmo was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Gilberto Boone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Sugar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bernardo Goudreau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Varennes made a substitution. Titus Pineda replaced Bernardo Goudreau. Varennes's Hong Mosher was substituted for Ward Houde. Bernardino Telmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Titus Pineda in the 64th minute of play. The Varennes fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Varennes's Maurice Odonnell looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 67th match minute, Pomona AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Sugar to maneuver through the defense. Pomona AFC's Bernardino Telmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Titus Pineda in the 68th minute of play. Gilberto Boone stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amador Patxi's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. The audience was convinced that Maurice Odonnell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardino Telmo was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arturo Sugar in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Boone saved Varennes from getting behind. In the 80thth minute of the game Amador Patxi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varennes's Gilberto Boone was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Pomona AFC's Bernardino Telmo got control of the ball when Maurice Odonnell tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 85th minute of the match Varennes got a corner. Pomona AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Théophile Berger ran over to the corner to take the kick. Juan do Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pomona AFC's Generoso Fortun got a free kick in the 88th minute. Seth Luke was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 95th minute, Varennes's Seth Luke ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bernardino Telmo. Bernardino Telmo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The Varennes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Varennes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
