An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevinn De Bruyne in the 20th minute of play forced Esquirla FC's goalkeeper Orvar Larsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Arlo Arruta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zdzislaw Jestrimski came out of the goal and Arlo Arruta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Arlo Arruta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlo Puglielli made a kick off. Kristen Lijsens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Esquirla FC booed when FC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Bielejewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dedé van Beek ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 86 minutes, Benjamin Specht mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esquirla FC and the FC United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kıvanç Baysungur received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Orvar Larsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Kıvanç Baysungur slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 96th minute. The Esquirla FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
