If Gilmar Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 19th minute Gilmar Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Llorian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ambrosio Colas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Vítor Netto having to interfere. GARIBALDI FC's Rene Llorian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Couto in the 27th minute of play. After 38 played minutes GARIBALDI FC got a freekick which was hit by Lázaro Ekain. Mile Letina made in the 40th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Eduard Hourani however managed to control. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Ambrosio Colas made the kick off in the second half. Rene Llorian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson Capixaba in the 56th minute of the match. After some careless play in the GARIBALDI FC defense, Gilmar Couto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rene Llorian. The GARIBALDI FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rene Llorian should have stopped the shot. When Botafogo MZRJ's Gilmar Couto in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Botafogo MZRJ's Silas Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. GARIBALDI FC's Dedê Koehler was substituted for Hugo Jacinto. José Vítor Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erubiel Dubardo in the 92nd minute of play. GARIBALDI FC's Rene Llorian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Couto in the 96th minute of play. GARIBALDI FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Botafogo MZRJ had won, even though GARIBALDI FC had held more of the ball.
