With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Pitta in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henry Nölting saved Academica Pulheim from getting behind. The supporters of Merusca F&P - CIMZ booed when Academica Pulheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacek Thierse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henry Nölting took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Academica Pulheim's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano Abraão came free, but Henry Nölting reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henry Nölting showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo de Queiroz in the 31st minute of the match. With a little luck, Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Willian Trevisan got control of the ball when Jari Anzengruber tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabiano Abraão might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henry Nölting. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabiano Abraão ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabiano Abraão to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Merusca F&P - CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Raimundo Amorim was substituted for Claudinho Sá. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Carlos Augusto Esteves was substituted for Fabiano Abraão. Henry Nölting was a little too slow when Carlos Augusto Esteves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 0-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Carlos Augusto Esteves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Henry Nölting. That made the score 0-4 after 85 minutes of play.
