After a defensive mix-up in Juventus FC's zone, Fred Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anatoliy Strakhovskyi came out of the goal and Fred Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The wind increased when Mykyta Komar made the kick off in the second half. Yusuf Ziya Cerit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anatoliy Strakhovskyi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute FC Lugano were awarded a corner. Zhao Le Sen went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led FC Lugano's Zhao Le Sen to fire away a dangerous shot which Anatoliy Strakhovskyi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Juventus FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Lugano the free kick. Kostyantyn Romanchuk hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The FC Lugano supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Lugano would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
