ZigZag Athletic's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hector Ares in the 14th minute. ZigZag Athletic's Fidel Shantala was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mateo Llorienzo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rodrigo Nestor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Mateo Llorienzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Merengue FC's Anastasio Hermon got a free kick in the 17th minute. Nicki Nick might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mateo Llorienzo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicki Nick ran back to his position shaking his head. 26 minutes into the game, one of Merengue FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mateo Llorienzo had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Rodrigo Nestor's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Nicki Nick in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mateo Llorienzo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 30 minutes, Nicki Nick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ZigZag Athletic and the Merengue FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, ZigZag Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicki Nick to maneuver through the defense. Mateo Llorienzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicki Nick, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. With 36 minutes on the clock, Kjell Boberg commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 36th minute, one of ZigZag Athletic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ZigZag Athletic. 41 minutes into the match, ZigZag Athletic's Marek Wyrzykowski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mateo Llorienzo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Rodrigo Nestor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mateo Llorienzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Nestor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Nestor was the one to do the kick off. Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Nestor in the 76th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Rodrigo Nestor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ZigZag Athletic fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. ZigZag Athletic made a substitution. Tiago Corrêa replaced Rodrigo Nestor. Mateo Llorienzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute Tiago Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Llorienzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Corrêa came free, but Mateo Llorienzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 95 minutes, Marek Wyrzykowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ZigZag Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marek Wyrzykowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mateo Llorienzo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiago Corrêa's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. ZigZag Athletic were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
