The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eron Sanez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the match, Golden Dragón F.C's Joaquim Pereta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Melvin Borgman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 6 minutes into the game, Joaquim Pereta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Melvin Borgman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Melvin Borgman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eron Sanez, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Golden Dragón F.C were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Verwachting's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chorche Torrescassana took the corner. Edgardo Loaisa was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. A collision led to Golden Dragón F.C getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Eron Sanez hit a great ball. In the 24th minute of the match Edwin Bulder shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Froila Espin showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Golden Dragón F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Vaalman came free, but Froila Espin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Eron Sanez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 35 minutes had been played. Eron Sanez kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes, Verwachting's Henk-Jan Opdam shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Froila Espin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Verwachting reached it. In the 38th minute, Joaquim Pereta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruud Geels stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Melvin Borgman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Pereta in the 51st minute of the match. Golden Dragón F.C's Donato Viñe quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Franck Bakhuis, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Melvin Borgman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Pereta, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 59th match minute, Golden Dragón F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgardo Loaisa to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Vaalman scored 1-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Froila Espin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Golden Dragón F.C's zone, Han Ostermann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Froila Espin came out of the goal and Han Ostermann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Froila Espin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruud Geels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Golden Dragón F.C's Froila Espin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Han Ostermann in the 72nd minute of play. 72 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Verwachting's Han Ostermann fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 76 minutes into the game, Han Ostermann recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Froila Espin. Han Ostermann showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 84th minute Edgardo Loaisa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melvin Borgman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Joaquim Pereta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golden Dragón F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquim Pereta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melvin Borgman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Verwachting played a much better game than Golden Dragón F.C and deserved their victory. The Golden Dragón F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
