Crişan Taffarel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Ciclista FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Dario Benedetto hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Mauro Otsoa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vänge IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 25th minute Ciclista FC were awarded a corner. Amador Francesco went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 32nd minute, Bruno Giordani ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Crişan Taffarel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After a rather tough play, Vänge IF's Ernani Vargas got a free kick in the 41st minute. Rigoberto Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ciriaco Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 45 minutes, Ronaldo-Luís De La Rosa-Mora mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ciclista FC and the Vänge IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th match minute, Ciclista FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldo-Luís De La Rosa-Mora to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Vänge IF's Zoltán Tálas was substituted for Rune Aspengren. Vänge IF made a substitution. Ramiro James replaced Bruno Giordani. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dario Benedetto to make the kick off. If Markus Albäck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramiro James got free with Crişan Taffarel in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rigoberto Flores took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ciriaco Hernando. Ciriaco Hernando dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. 65 minutes into the match, Ciclista FC's goalkeeper Crişan Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramiro James. In the 69th minute Markus Albäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Crişan Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciclista FC's Crişan Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Ciclista FC from getting a goal against them. Ciriaco Hernando didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rigoberto Flores went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Vänge IF's Ciriaco Hernando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Flores in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Flores in the 85th minute of play forced Vänge IF's goalkeeper Ciriaco Hernando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 92 played minutes Ciclista FC got a freekick which was hit by Dario Benedetto. 93 minutes into the match, Markus Albäck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Crişan Taffarel. Ciclista FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Markus Albäck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. The supporters of Ciclista FC booed when Vänge IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geva Lia didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Vänge IF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vänge IF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
