Gaétan Toullec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicanor Gaufred in the 19th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christophe Montaigne. Robin Chaubet hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Santos Ioritz took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gaétan Toullec. Gaétan Toullec dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Nicanor Gaufred had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kader Miguet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Palermo from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christophe Montaigne got free with Enrique Lekubegi in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Kader Miguet kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Enrique Lekubegi. That made the score 2-1 in the 38 minute of play. With 43 minutes on the clock, Lisandro Argi commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of Cats and dogs booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lisandro Argi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Lekubegi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christophe Montaigne, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Cats and dogs's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Christophe Montaigne in the 46th minute. In the 47th match minute, Cats and dogs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Jérémie to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Christophe Montaigne sped through Palermo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. Enrique Lekubegi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Christophe Montaigne went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Enrique Lekubegi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kader Miguet went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Kader Miguet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute, Kader Miguet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrique Lekubegi was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. Gaétan Toullec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Gaufred in the 79th minute of play. Kader Miguet scored 7-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enrique Lekubegi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 86 minutes of play, Cats and dogs's Kader Miguet made it 8-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enrique Lekubegi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Enrique Lekubegi was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Palermo's zone, Christophe Montaigne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Lekubegi came out of the goal and Christophe Montaigne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oscar Eguen's late challenge caught a Cats and dogs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oscar Eguen helped the player get up and apologised. Oscar Eguen kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Cats and dogs's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
