When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Marcu Voitiş sped through Brufoss IL's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olav Øverby. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Olav Øverby, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Are Høiby thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Olav Øverby, a very annoying self made goal in the 10th minute which led to 0-2. Marcu Voitiş blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Olav Øverby having to make a save. 17 minutes into the game, Marcu Voitiş cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Olav Øverby was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Markham got free with Gigel Gorgan in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by MIT's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kent Remme was slow to take the kick. During this time Brufoss IL's players had a chance to rest. Kent Remme made a great header on Brufoss IL's corner, it was just that MIT's Gigel Gorgan managed to reach the ball for a save. Emanuel Markham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gigel Gorgan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, MIT's Marcu Voitiş made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olav Øverby was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute, Marcu Voitiş ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olav Øverby was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. After a rather tough play, Brufoss IL's Kent Remme got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 40th minute Marcu Voitiş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olav Øverby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcu Voitiş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Olav Øverby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcu Voitiş in the 44th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goal looked a bit too open when Marcu Voitiş came free, but Olav Øverby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half MIT were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Markham to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Brufoss IL getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Are Høiby hit a great ball. Olav Øverby was a little too slow when Marcu Voitiş got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-6. Cristi Foltea's late challenge caught a Brufoss IL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristi Foltea helped the player get up and apologised. After 61 played minutes MIT got a freekick which was hit by Cristi Foltea. After a rather tough play, Brufoss IL's Kent Remme got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 66th minute Kent Remme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Gorgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brufoss IL made a substitution. Tor-Egil Arntsen replaced Karl Bergstrøm. Brufoss IL's Jørund Nyhagen was substituted for Arild Kvalnes. A collision led to MIT getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Cristi Foltea hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Brufoss IL's Kajetan Kazimierz got a free kick in the 70th minute. After a rather tough play, MIT's Radu Achifoaiei got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 75th minute, Kent Remme made a precise shot to the right of Gigel Gorgan. MIT's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. After a defensive mix-up in Brufoss IL's zone, Marcu Voitiş stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olav Øverby came out of the goal and Marcu Voitiş tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 played minutes MIT got a freekick which was hit by Emil Glodeanu. After some careless play in the Brufoss IL defense, Marcu Voitiş kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olav Øverby. The Brufoss IL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olav Øverby should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute, Marcu Voitiş got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The MIT players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
