Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guido Carrillo in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cecilio Uxio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Guido Carrillo in the 21st minute. Cecilio Uxio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Carrillo in the 39th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Edelmiro Bibiano kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Cecilio Uxio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guido Carrillo's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute Guido Carrillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Uxio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
