Orlando Cordoba helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Noroeste Paulista booed when SAPRIMECKBEL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Cordoba didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennie Nuñez in the 13th minute of play forced Noroeste Paulista's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13 minutes, Bennie Nuñez made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Noroeste Paulista's Cláudio Taffarel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Noroeste Paulista's Cláudio Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Rosabal in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Noroeste Paulista's Jailson Penha got a free kick in the 20th minute. Bennie Nuñez struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Cláudio Taffarel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rodolfo Wanchope came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Noroeste Paulista's João Augusto Azevedo. But to his dismay, João Augusto Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Noroeste Paulista's Cláudio Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Rosabal in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half SAPRIMECKBEL were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geovânio Quirino to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, SAPRIMECKBEL's Teodoro Padilla got a free kick in the 51st minute. 54 minutes into the match, Noroeste Paulista's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramon Mena. Cláudio Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Bennie Nuñez sent off a good shot on target. Cláudio Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Mena in the 58th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Geovânio Quirino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodolfo Wanchope was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. SAPRIMECKBEL's Rodolfo Wanchope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Quirino in the 69th minute of play. Bennie Nuñez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Cláudio Taffarel made a huge save. Cláudio Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramon Mena in the 73rd minute. In the 79th minute, Teodoro Padilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to SAPRIMECKBEL getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Mićo Grande hit a great ball. Carlos Fernando Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Jailson Penha was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Cláudio Taffarel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aurelio Jarquin.
